DFI-Day 2 Workflow
Today we were learning how to record a google meet and then embed it onto our Blog. I managed to remember the steps (after 2 failures) and then I showed someone else how to do it! Very cool but I wonder if I can do it again next week. Did you know it automatically saves into your drive and there is even a folder in your drive called Meet- wonders will never cease.
Also today we looked at the Keep Note app that is on our Macs. This is also a good place to put notes and take photos as it keeps it here and you can also have the app on your phone so no need for double handling.
We then spent some time adding comments to other people's posts.
That is one thing I really appreciate is being able to have time to have a play with what we are learning. I managed to cull my emails down by 1000- no judgements here please😀 This will certainly help with my workflow. The photo below shows this culling in action!
I felt reasonably comfortable with the Calendar section as our principal gave us a crash course back in 2005 and things seem pretty similar.
Roll on next week!

Kia ora Lisa,
ReplyDeleteWell done on a successful Meet recording! Isn't it grand when we manage to do something new and despite a couple of 'learning moments' we find success. I'm glad you have been able to get rid of a good number of emails. I think emails are the bane of most people's lives, whether they work in education or not. I've been lucky this year to start a new job and put things in place from the beginning so that I don't have the build up.
Ngā mihi,
Sharon
Kia ora Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI loved your high level discussion at the start of your video getting Brogan to agree to being recorded on the Meet.
One of the strengths of the DFI is to introduce you to possibilities and then give you time to explore and play to determine what works for you.
Google Keep is a google product that is connect to your school account and so is available on any device which is very cool, it is not just limited to Mac devices.
I really enjoy being part of your learning and the enthusiasm you show for continuing your own learning.
Nga mihi,
Mark
Hey Mark,
DeleteSee I am improving with my reading posts skills- checking them often.
Yes I thought that it was important that I got Brogan to agree to being recorded-is this a requirement or just a courtesy?
I see the benefits of Google Keep as I am a 'jot it down on a piece of paper-put it down somewhere goodness knows where-forget what I wrote-find it the next day if I am lucky-
Hopefully I won't lose my Mac as easily.:)
Thanks for the comment Mark (forgot to sign off last reply)
