DFI Dealing With Data
Dealing With Data
Sharing and the ability to connect ... as being the hook.
Why Blogger?
It is very useful to teach the digital citizenship skills that all learners need. What to do when you face 'bumps in the road'.
Sharing to start new learning.
Hapara Hot Tips: You can check the blog comments by clicking on the Blogger icon-you may need to click on the more options down arrow.
Google Forms: I have never created one.. lets go!
I can see the use for the class-like pre-post collection of data. Then it would be useful to collate/analyse the data using the tools within the forms.
Googlemap
Well I felt so frustrated!!!! Created a cool map then I pressed the delete the layer and all my efforts disappeared. I did say a swear word out loud and almost cried, silly eh but I recognise how learners feel when they get to a roadblock. Take a deep breath and carry on. I can hear the others all saying they are posting their maps on their blogs and I am just sitting here.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

Kia ora Lisa,
ReplyDeleteHow do you model the sharing in your studio so you can support your learners to face 'bumps in the road'? I do not think it ever to early to start these teachings and let children hear these messages that contribute to developing a strong citizen for our community.
Great perservence with your map, as you say it is good for us to experience what our learners experience often on a daily basis. You certainly have some great walking spaces on the East Side!
As I stated on Kelly's blog "It was interesting watching Manaiakalani's blog post per day during lockdown and then when back at school. During lockdown they were averaging approx 300 blogposts per day every day of the week, which then jumped to around 450 per day when back at school. I think this really shows how embedded blogging is in the daily teaching and learning in that cluster.
From Te Ara Tūhura data I can see that we are still having a surge in blog posts at the end of the week indicating to me that we are still in a Monday/Tuesday-Learn, Wednesday, Thursday-Create and Friday-Share.
It is a real shame that Google Forms cannot have audio inserted into it as this would make it much more accessible for learners when completing the form. Maybe this is something you and i could feedback to Google? I can show you tomorrow.
Nga mihi,
Mark
